Accessing Posted September 11, 2020 at 07:42 AM Accessing Intelligence Officer [C] UNIT LEADER ACCESS [4] TOP SECRET〔CW〕 DISCORD 3.6k Share Protagonist Syndrome: A particular brand of narcissism in which a person views him/herself as the main character in a work of fiction. Everything this person does all fits into a narrative, this person has ambitions, dreams and obstacles all leading up to a goal. But what are those obstacles? Other people, obviously. Friends are all supporting characters, strangers are background characters, and the villains are those who get on your nerves. Everything bad that happens to you is a result of other peoples' stupidity, negligence, or outright malevolence. You can never be wrong because you're the main character, and constantly fighting the persecution that the world throws at you! So basically, every single other person on Earth is reduced to a one-dimensional piece of scenery, a supporting character at best or an obstacle at worst, neglecting the fact that all of those people are leading lives every bit as full and rich as your own. This worldview appears to be incredibly pervasive, and I know I experienced it in my teenage years before I found a girlfriend. Those who keep it well into their adulthood, though, tend to be annoying to talk with at best, or at worst, hideously selfish. These are the people with persecution complexes, who defend their actions even when just about everyone has turned against them (usually for good reason). Sometimes these people are just savvy enough to find their way into positions of power. So yeah, I'm sure that human selfishness is pretty much the root of all problems humans face. I've discussed before that a good cure for humanity's problems would be a mind link that all humans possess. Through this they would step into the brain of someone they were interacting with as a spectator and experience the collective thoughts and feelings of everyone else as if they were their own. This would have a wonderful effect of ushering in a new era of understanding and cooperation. People could still act as individuals, but knowing what others think and feel would greatly discourage them from being selfish. The barriers between humans are possibly the biggest barriers of all, break them and we can become truly enlightened. Thoughts? Enda Goodwin Posted September 11, 2020 at 07:42 AM Enda Goodwin Field Agent 157 Share The way I see it, as a transhumanist, most people simply haven't being doing enough to accelerate the arrival of vital technologies such as true artificial intelligence and biological immortality. They may have fulfilling lives, but their goals are, from my point of view , pathetic have a family get some wealth and die of aging. They escape the reality of death through the delusions that arise from the promises found in ancient religious texts. Do I care? Well I want to gain all possible information, I want unlimited resources, absolute security, immortality, in essence godhood. I wouldn't want to interfere with others lives, but I do not want them to interfere with my life, my acquisition of information and resources nor my use of resources(nor my living creations). The problem is that others intend to have me submit to their laws, that is fine as it pertains to my interactions with their society, but once I'm fully self sufficient these laws have no justification to govern me over my own domain... and once I've enough resources they won't be able to apply to me, and any attempt to apply them to me could result in severe consequences for the would be enforcers. It seems to me that those who acquire near unlimited resources, absolute security, and all their physical desires don't really find happiness until they "interfere" with other's lives, either as a tyrant or a benefactor. The hyper rich and powerful of our current time demonstrate this over and over again. I'd be interested to hear more about what exactly you would do to find meaning once you aren't strictly required to do anything for yourself. Maybe we can have a conversation about it sometime as there really is too much to unpack here for a forum conversation. Enda Goodwin Posted September 19, 2023 at 02:37 AM Enda Goodwin Field Agent 157 Share It was more Hyperbole but in any case the idea is to be the kingdom. Sorry I didn't care to even respond, I know you record conversations to post on YouTube and this was going to be more ridiculous than anything serious. To define territory and create a sovereign state, establish government and maybe even apply for UN membership. Would-be the end all goal. My mission hasn't changed I own a ranch in Wyoming now from then though I would be lying if I said I wasn't content with that especially with the pandemic having happened. Any isolated ideal form of power would likely topple to global pandemic level virus. The access and means to vaccinate but also politically navigate that would be newfound hell. Nothing money would have fixed but even money sometimes cannot fix accessibility. LITTLE LEVEL Posted September 19, 2023 at 01:06 PM LITTLE LEVEL Special Agent ACCESS [1] CONFIDENTIAL FORUM BASIC MEMBER 267 Share Did you know that a google AI dev, Elon Musk, and Apples Head AI developer are all warning people to stop working on AI or to at least slow down development for a while? They are scared that they will become to smarter than us and yes even rule over the world. Apples AI Dev said that at one point they will be so smart they will manipulate you without you even knowing it. We are trying to create "life" and because we are not God we will have no control over it. Then you have the immortality idea you discussed. Now I don't believe this will ever happen if it did happen people selfishness would reach its fullest form and hell would break loose. Then of course you have the overpopulation problem. This reminds me of a book I read a few pages of call scythe. It is essentially about a time when humans reached their most evolved form and they just can't die so people called scythes (glorified grim reapers) have to kill them to prevent overpopulation. Now this is a sicking idea but if you think about it overpopulation would be a problem. But enough about that. Then comes your point about the delusions of a family man. They may seem unimpressive but in a way they are one living the life God like a family to live and two actually living a good happy life. You don't need to be succesfull or powerful to live a good life. Then comes you thing about essentially being a god. Craving power is a dangerous thing because it never goes away. No matter how much information you gather, security, or power it will never be enough for you. And to get it all you will have to do bad things and interfere with others. Essentially you want to live the way you want to live and become the most powerful human being. Well I hate to break it to you but you will never reach complete and total power their will always be some things out of your grasp. You essentially want to become your own main character which is what this thread is against.
