Snapchat is a non-traditional mobile platform that is fun and easy to use. It’s a great way for potential employers to assess your communication skills that might not be evident on a paper résumé. It’s a way to show off a bit, and grab a potential employer’s attention.

You can string a bunch of snaps together to create a video introduction and send it to your prospective employer. Use this feature to provide a Snapchat story résumé. The video will remain available for viewing for only 24 hours.

Follow these five steps:

1. Download the Snapchat app from the iTunes App Store for iOS or from the Google Play Store for Android.
2. On the Welcome screen, tap SIGN UP.
3. Tap the field that says Email Address and enter a valid email address.
4. Tap the field that says Password and enter a secure password.
5. Choose your username; this is your identity on Snapchat. Make it something unique to you.
