The identity of ONI is a solemn one, designed in true clairvoyance to what intelligence agencies may use in the 26th century of the in Halo universe timeline. Around this identity is our brand, non-associated to Halo but from Halo itself to which we hold pride in and create narratives in the stories we create. Starting in Halo 2 with the emblem first a small design that associated with a Character Profile and used to represent a player's identity in multiplayer games and online play. We used a basic Triangle with a Bullseye from which became the default emblem for all games moving forward.

While we no longer associate with this rudimentary emblem in favor of other more modern options it is still a callback to the brilliance in simplicity and veteran members of Halo that were apart of ONI in Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo: Reach before the introduction of the ONI emblem on Halo 4.

Halo 4's emblem introduced alternate reality gaming in the form of Section 3 ARG: an alternate reality game done by 343 Industries. The ARG was a campaign that spread out through Halo 4 and Halo: Spartan Assault. It was a forum-based puzzle that also spread into chat groups, trailers, and even in Halo 4. The ONI emblem required code to Unlock Wiseguy, this code: "T5CE6KV3R8" to be submitted through the legacy Halo Waypoint app for Xbox 360.

While Tip of the Shadow (TOTS) and 343 Industries Section 3 ARG elements exist in ONI it is not apart of the clan itself and is only an extension of the community in Halo. It is encouraged to all members to be involved and learn cryptology to encode and decode as part of the bigger community in the ARG realm for future puzzles and projects. It is not uncustomary for ONI to also assist in the hunt for clues and decryption of codes in the campaign.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection released skewering the original emblem, making it off center to its circle with the outer circle of the ONI emblem overlapping in the foreground instead of being in the background behind the half triangle. Due to the many errors made in the emblem it was decided to take a adaptable approach, to adopt the half triangle emblem believed to evoke the same feeling and representation of what ONI is.

The half emblem becomes whole in a black background, subliminally speaking to the truths in intelligence, trust and code phrase Night Succeeds The Day. This emblem was eventually voted over in a polling from the previous Halo 4 variant.

Halo 5: Guardians introduced the ONI emblem, a perfect rendition to what we know today to the insignia. Unlocked after SR70 it is the baseline emblem for Halo 5: Guardians all ONI members are expected to have this emblem on at all times unless it is a Holiday for which corresponding holiday emblems are allowed, in remembrance of Adam (aka thecrzedspartan) and his wife Rebecca lost their daughters Trinity and Lena the True Light emblem or members unlocked other Halo Championship Series, HCS Grassroot exclusive emblems.

The Seal of the Office of Naval Intelligence superficially resembles a stylized surveillance satellite, but it also represents a pyramid of knowledge with an all-seeing eye and an arrowhead directed to the heavens. Above the center circle reads "UNSC" and at the bottom, in between the edges of the outer circle reads
    "Office of Naval Intelligence".

The colors of the seal can be inverted on dark surfaces. In some instances, the text is removed from the seal. The seal can be modified to include ONI units or locations.
