With the new release of the BFV Chapter 5, we are greeted by the long awaited Pacific Theater where two new factions are introduced. The United States Army and The Imperial Japanese Army. There was the introduction of two new maps. Pacific Storm, much similar to Battlefield 4's "Paracel Storm", this map is actually created by the same designer. The second map is based on the well known historical battle of Iwo Jima, these two maps along with the return of Wake Island in December brings new fronts to the game, new weapons, vehicles and faction uniforms. Though while playing I've noticed some issues despite loving this update there's some things I would love to see adjusted.

First and foremost, the faction decision is a little strange. While the US Army did participate in the Pacific Theater it was more of the United States Marine Corps spotlight as they island hopped against Japanese Air, Land and Sea forces. Iwo Jima being the most historical Marine Battle where the famous image of a group of Marines raised a US flag at the top of Mount Suribachi. So, seeing the naval invasion being the US Army is very strange since the naval invasion of Iwo Jima was performed by the Marine Corps with obvious support from the US Navy.

Another arising issue is cosmetics. We all love a good cosmetic and yes we all know that Battlefield V wasn't going to be historically accurate with cosmetics. An issue that's appeared is that while playing as the Japanese some German uniforms are still able to be selected and as the US Army some British Uniforms can be selected. Now, there's nothing more ridiculous than running on the battlefield and seeing a German officer laying on the sands of Iwo Jima needing to be revived after being shot by an Irish Highlander that somehow took a cruise with the Marines. These are just some minor things though at the end of the day it's still an amazing addition to the game. What are your thoughts and how has your experience been with this new update?

Haven't played, sounds interesting though is this DLC you have to pay for?

No, BFV doesn't have any paid DLC. They make their money now through selling cosmetic only skins. The Pacific Theater is entirely free.
