In short there are some things in place that make matchmaking together a little bit harder for the lower ranks, this affects social too I am pretty sure.

Maybe I’m just slow but I don’t see how they thought this is a good thing, unranked players won’t be able to play in the same fireteam as ranked players if they’re unqualified? Already sounds like a nightmare.

Yeah they really outdid themselves here, made matchmaking with friends just that much harder because the kind of matches data was being shown. I don't think there is a right answer to it honestly but there is a lengthy discussion under all of this to be had if SBMM should be so strict in a smaller population.

It’s also going to complicate things for all the clans that use a squad system. They can no longer just throw random people into a squad and call it a day… they will have to create a system where they place all new recruits together and place them based on their ranking and for the once that are not ranked they’ll have to put them in one squad then they’ll have to qualify together.
