  3. I think another unpopular opinion, or position in this grandiose barrage of comments everywhere around Halo Infinite is that developers and the studios itself does not owe anyone an answer. While technical debt sucks, this opinion is really something of a thought piece only developers can discuss internally on ways to make better. It isn't really unpopular or popular, the entire connotation of. technical debt is negative and will probably always be in any industry.
  4. This is actually really cool. Very intuitive, I am curious how they managed to collect and track progress. I don't believe the Halo API has campaign telemetry.
  5. I just want to say WOW. I did not have high expectations or hope to find a developer. Invisionbyte is clearly very capable and I am very happy with the results so far. I don't know if its just me though, reading the forums and in its wide from before is really straining. If you need help with some examples of great forums online I know some to share.
  6. U.S. intelligence officials have moved to declassify what they have said is a Russian plan to spread disinformation about Ukraine. Some few days ago I read this article from Times that more or less describes the issues Russia and Ukraine have. Its a short read, I recommend it if its available. [ https://time.com/6148791/william-burns-cia-russia-declassify/ ] I personally don't think the US should get involved but because of NATO it may be asked to provide resources in many different ways. There are already special forces elements gathered behind the local militia in Ukraine from various countries. The guerrilla warfare strategists will probably play out a longer invasion than necessary as sanctions are imposed on Russia by all sorts of countries. I am more interested in the reaction of the UK and other European military powers. The UN is a shell of any governing body but NATO have more ulterior motives. Other business parties might be involved as I understand Ukraine is one of the largest European countries and there is probably money somewhere to be pillaged.
  7. Astronauts are typically in zero gravity but space travel and in the 26th century they developed artificial zero gravity. [ https://www.halopedia.org/Artificial_gravity ] Essentially Shawn if there is an artificial gravity environment it should help counteract the loss of bone density you mentioned. Playing through Halo Infinite right now this post reminded me that the Pelican also has some sort of centrifugal force to produce gravity or a gravity plate. But of course it might just be the weight of Master Chiefs armor or magnetic plates from his boots. For someone lost in space, twice now Chiefs bone density might actually be in question.
  8. I noticed my rank was fixed but I did not get any rewards.
  9. I found a mod that might be interesting to try out to forge some bases. [ https://www.nexusmods.com/halothemasterchiefcollection/mods/1212?tab=files ]
  10. You hid this post, I just unhid it. Why? Were you scared perhaps someone would actually get banned.
  11. The format of the embed doesn't look like a typical Reddit post. But also this is very long and illegible on this site, might be something to note with web development.
  12. I'm intrigued by this forum overall but agree with Shawn4Japan. When I joined ONI in 2012, I wanted to be apart of a clan I was proud of and tell everyone about. In Halo 4 joining clans as a group, leaving them to eventually fall from our influences and then continuing to operate around our name and not from our name it was a reality to me that many people don't understand. We're not attached to ONI beyond its theme and the role playing names we take into consideration. That in itself is powerful, because we made ONI to be whatever we want on a given day but also detached ourselves from it. For better or for worse we even inspired others to start their own ONI clans, give us feedback on ours (one such vividly clear example is that we are overly sophisticated and complex) whereas they copied us and removed the complications they have to create a new iteration that did not last more than 6 months. To inspire people to fight so hard for the name, to see that they want to be the best ONI or beat us too, its all a new thrill that keeps me interested.
  13. As a military family it hurts to see US efforts unravel in less than a day. It's a strategic failure, 20 years of occupation for key assets in the region in what is otherwise a beautiful country with rich history. That same 20 years affecting so many lives, veterans and currently deployed. It cannot be a good feeling seeing the years you spent out there go down in a day. The UN's inaction, as well as NATO should speak for the world in how much this will weigh. Like the issue with Israel this will probably be smothered in other world wide issues. For the US its hard to say if this is indeed a failure or the intended plan for the country, we have had the luxury to observe what goes on in the world to know the CIA/NSA and activities around the proxy wars we practice here in the clan is something of a mystery to those completely outside of the activity. China/Russia could be backing the militants. There is one thing to observe in the media and that is the Taliban is not seen anywhere actually being an benevolent force. While shots fired and people died it was not an massacre. In the inner city of Kabul it is peaceful and unlike many other cities in the region with blocks bombed and mass graves it is intact. The world can only watch as this is a monumental moment for the puppet state bureaucracy of a terrorist organization to come to its end goal in setting up a new regime. For which side this benefits we don't know, leaving Kabul could only mean we lost.
  14. Build a building exactly to my specifications anywhere in the world. Permits and money to no ends. Die of old age not illness-disease, undernourishment or other. Inherit wealth of $1B without any problems legally.
  15. From a couple of blogs ago, the web team over there expressed interest in Discourse. I have looked into this decision by them to see if we can better compete with them and it is comparable to Invision really however outside of our budget and for a free to use software I think Invision might offer more. The minute details like Zendesk integration might take Halo Support to a different level on Waypoint. We will have to see what comes of the new Waypoint to come probably a month before Halo: Infinite is released.
  16. [ https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck ] We have not seen a new console in this industry in 20 years, unless you count the Alienware Steam Machine. We have to be in the greatest years of gaming presently and to come.

  18. After reading some of your reports I wanted to record that we did indeed see and also receive a free one years worth of Ultimate plan on Enjin. As of this thread it is less than a year now. The vested interests of our old website is no longer viable however in this feat I have turned on the automations set up on the old website and restored some of the modules left. One of us should have it in an email chain @Dale Kilkin @Shawn Ohlson I need either one of you to post the original code to the theme and other miscellanous designs we had for the Enjin site.
  19. I have been following the Guilded.gg team and project in its application development long after we decided to stick with Discord and am interested in having a space for us to pivot too should it become an reliable and usable application. I would like to request a team to be given the opportunity to set up the Guilded server as this might be an interest in the future. Let me know if anyone else sees things, differently.
  20. I'm not sure why there is an inconsistency with the After Action Reports but I think it has to do with that Star emoji you used. Please remove that from the template.

  21. I've made a role on Discord for this, Zeta Halo is not ready!
  22. A reading by Alex “Haruspis” Wakeford of the short story “Soma the Painter” from Halo: Evolutions. If you aren’t as familiar with that particular tale, it’s probably because it was a bonus inclusion in Volume I of the aforementioned anthology when it was split apart to make the mass market paperback editions. It’s a tale that showcases the reintroduction of the Flood into Forerunner culture before the original firing of the Array. It’s a great read, and now, a great listen.
