  1. I mean I guess so, I do see people take off for Chinese new years but we don't get those days off though. I'm not religious to know any other day than the classic pagan holidays and easter.
  2. BATTLE CANYON Battle canyon requires constant callouts and control of the top of the bases especially Top Red. Battle canyon is 100% calling out and teamshot to win. PENANCE INITIAL PUSH: Penance requires green room control to get and maintain lead. Blue spawn immediately runs to green to setup, red spawn immediately teleports and spams nades into green room to catch blue team going in. SETUP: One player sets up top lift with shotgun. Two players set up in green, one with snipe scoped on teleporter the other on green ramp watching snipe tunnel. One player sets up S2/green plat with rockets if you have them. GREEN CORNER RETAKE: If you lose the green room but still have the lead you DO NOT need to push green at all. Camp with GL in red spawn and wait for them with to push you. After killing the one player that pushes, you can make the 4v3 push to take green back. Can also wait for camo and jetpack to initiate retake. Best to start the engagement in snipe tunnel with rockets then two players take lift and another teleports after they lift and draw the attention from teleporter. ZEALOT Zealot requires controlling landings and top gold. This forces enemy team to spawn basement the whole game. SANCTUARY Sanctuary requires ring control, specifically their wall. When snipe is about to spawn control their hut and ensure you take their snipe. This forces the enemy team to spawn their rocks or their main. Any players that spawn in courtyard can easily be spawn predicted and double teamed. THE PIT Setup to pull the flag when all 4 are dead and run flag through green and rockets. When flag is pulled one player sets up on their mauler to force courtyard spawn. Set up two players on green, one player with sniper watching courtyard in order to set up for the spawn trap and the other player teamshooting the courtyard. Your team must get rockets and custom to get flag caps on good players. COUNTDOWN SLAYER: Countdown requires S3 and street control. Must setup in lifts to get rockets. Teammate with rockets guards S3 with a teammate on each street. CTF: Rocket control is key to easy flag caps on countdown. As your teammate juggles the flag through S2 have one player with rockets escort him to the flag cap and use the rockets to shut down any opposition. NEXUS Nexus requires patience, teamshot and knowing that defense is the best offense. TOP GREEN HILL: Setup on the side hill will go next. One player should be on the top main cuts ramp sniping hill and opposing main. One player should be in the closet with GL and one player should be in the enemy closet to force cut spawn. Once set up the last player should be in the hill on the edge closest to the top rock. PLATFORM HILLS: The setup for the platform hills is to post one player on the hill, one player on top main with snipe, one player on cuts/arrow and one player floating around diamond and top main to help teamshot. Everyone must callout and teamshot but DON’T push for kills just DEFEND the side with the hill. Cuts player actively watches top Gold, hill player actively watches bottom green, top green and rocks. Top main player watches opposing main, bottom green and top green and he must not arbitrarily over extend onto the top main but rather post up on the cuts ramp going top main. BASE RETAKE: Do the retake while the hill is top green and go through gold and cuts, DO NOT WAIT until the hill moves to the base. If however the hill is on the plat and the enemy team controls it then with a full team first push through top green and bottom green through the rocks and closet and take the top main of the side with the hill to CONTROL the spawn in closet THEN take the hill. If your team dies but one player makes it to the hill side closet/main then focus on staying alive and just wait in closet or closet ramp for your team to spawn on you. Tactics Head glitching, corner peaking, strafing, crouching and jumping are tactics you should employ to win fights especially 1v1s. Head glitching is using cover in a way that only your head is exposed making you a tiny target. Corner peaking is using a wall to peak and shoot your target then going behind cover so when they shoot you they hit the wall. Then you can peak again and shoot them again. Afterwards you can either push out with shot advantage or repeat the process. Be wary of being naded though. Corner peaking must be used to clear a room and to get shot advantage. It is a bad idea to just run into a room finding yourself overextended without cover. To counter the peak shot you should throw a nade either at the corner they are peaking from or behind the corner to force them out. Strafing, crouching and jumping must be used in every fight. Keep it unpredictable but a good general strafe is one left/right then crouch when they fire. Uncrouch take a step to the right/left then crouch when they fire. Uncrouch jump to the left/right and spam the crouch so your head bobs in the air making you hard to land a headshot. I see a lot of players that w-key into the open before clearing the room and getting caught in a fight and getting shot first. Then they will w-key into the player that shot them and lose the fight because they weren't making themselves hard to hit and they had shot disadvantage. Melee fights should generally not be purposefully taken. They are generally 50/50 fights and going for a melee means that you probably are not strafing making you an easy 5 shot. Do NOT wander the map aimlessly looking for a fight. There are power positions on every map that are essential to victory. In low level play the team that is better or haphazardly controls these power positions wins but in high level play the team that doesn't control the position loses the game 100% of the time. Halo is not just a game based on skill. If your team does not move around the map purposefully, does not control power positions, does not communicate player positions/weapon spawns/when to pull the flag/etc. and does not teamshot your team will not win.
  3. Do you think we technically would honor every national holiday by nation? If of course the world is technically one nation?
  4. Vaguebooking is any update on a social network (although primarily Facebook) that is intentionally vague. Status updates which fall under the category of vaguebooking can be long or short, but most comprise just a few simple words.
  5. Huh? Can you create a test event and invite me to it, I'll do the same.
  6. Thoughts? Plays? A Prologue: Special Forces/Black Ops teams already are active, fighting for resources of killing specific targets. Countries are more invested on economical profit to relation in geopolitical tensions. The war is already ongoing in a smaller theater and those deployed within the higher brass should know that its nothing more than conquest. For who is yet to be determined. My theory, Countries agree to financial rules of engagement in private interests. It's very strange but if you follow the news around ISIS attacks and reports from various governments the terrorists forces are more interested in attacking these facilities than civilian areas. America is so in debt to other countries that it relies on its military instead of paying back the debt. Because of the debt to a multitude of countries America dedicates its assets to relief, coalitions and other efforts that don't even really suite our needs or interests of the people. Including favors for China, exchanging intelligence with Israel and even operations in Yemen for other parties behind closed doors, we do business with Russia and give leeway to many of the odd countries that do wrong here and there. WWI started out similarly with an assassination taking place, this most recent assassination however is something that concludes the prologue and sheds a little light into the shadow wars that are taking place. In a episode where we all know the CIA is back channeling weapons to ISIS and other terrorist groups who we promote to bring to power the General in Iran was close to finding and presenting solid evidence of this to a world stage. Where the president (which would not matter but so haphazardly has to be Trump) would have to agree to stop and prevent the possible outcome of this the decision a drone strike was probably a joke, a career ending one that the operators decide to present to Trump as an option for him to choose over others to control the chaos in how they plan scenarios from Langley. We don't know if this is truly up to Trump, I am very confident actually that the nature of these operations, any president before would have made the decision to execute the general. I am also pretty sure that Trump's policy makers and government really control him as a puppet leader and that there is a higher power. While he tweets and brings the drama on Twitter (from which Twitter gauges profits from peoples content) the overall government is always providing him options, formulating the plan and going through with it easily convincing him. The cover up story is the worst part though, in a more connected world like today where no other news outlet credible and not owned by american companies is reporting something completely different it just all looks very bad. The embassy being held in Iran and raided is nothing new, Marines being deployed (with no movement from American allies) one could guess we have something more than just an embassy to evacuate and other private interests to protect. The only matching piece to go on with a war is a greater depression. In which, China has $400,000,000,000 (Billion) dollars of oil and investment in Iran and Russia follows significantly lower but there too. Money market is something I've not knowledgeable about when it comes to these countries but if you had $400 Billion in your bank you wouldn't want anyone else to touch it right? In retrospective Iran is still a playground for countries to fight proxy wars in and a WW3 would not happen because it is not profitable, If we see a depression where the value of currencies drop and it does become profitable I think we will see it. How the market swings today its unpredictable - and even if Iran continues to strike and attack US forces in Iran it will not raise tensions outside of the media releasing countless articles with brazing headlines. 1 more thing to note is the power of media, to which I believe influenced the decision to say yes and was used in an argument to Trump for convincing him. For more than half a month all media outlets took his impeachment and ran with it, to which no sociopathic being likes the defamation, the humiliation and how close you are to losing power. I hope to see more memes and stupid reserves people crying in short videos for attention about being deployed when they are literally in the Coast Guard, the most fascinating thing is the war fought on memes on Twitter.
  7. Today I want to explore a paludarium with you, specifically the paudarium in the video above. it was created by my friend Nick using a standard 75-gallon aquarium you can get from the chain stores. It's a lovely example of what's possible and it really pushes the limit of what we think of when we talk aquariums. (You can see more of his work on his website.) So what is a paludarium? A paludarium is an artificial habitat that has both aquatic and terrestrial elements—put another way, it must have significant land area and water volume. In a true paludarium, there should be enough landmass for terrestrial animals like frogs to live happily and enough water to comfortably house aquatic animals like fish or newts. You don't need to have animal life in your paludarium though, I just find it helpful to define a paludarium based on what it could house. And that's because there are two other types of enclosures that are quite similar but very much different—Ripariums and Terrariums. Ripariums often look very similar to a paludarium, but they cannot support terrestrial life. A riparium might have a small bit of land, plants or even wood that breaks waters surface, but it's not enough to support meaningful terrestrial life—just because a frog could hold onto some exposed driftwood doesn't mean it would be happy or even survive in the long run. A terrarium is just the opposite of a riparium. Terrariums appear similar to a paludarium, but they don't contain a significant body of water. Terrariums might have enough water to happily support a few frogs, but not enough water or filtration to support a small school of fish. 8. In the defense of the person that said that had a valid argument you were vaguebooking/subtweeting others, you wrote a subliminal story essentially talking about someone behind their back – or at least that’s how people usually explain it reading that. I thought it was bad too, whether or not that's really breaching boundaries I would think its more of seriousness of role playing.
  9. A little bit, its apart of a commerce application that is woven into the forum/site itself. Here's the link below, it kind of sucks but we were kind of looking into having the application later down the road anyway. More of a reason to get it. 10. Something I see often crossed is the real life application of things in role play, inherently okay in general role playing it is actually bad to do. We see this in ONI mesh in certain areas, real names when provided and other information gathered unconventionally (and most times not on purpose) but outside of ONI we've seen stolen valor, delusion of grandeur and other cases not rare at all to see like 8th grader syndrome. It has also become a common thing where people are including you in their role play without your consent or context. Misconstruing the overall narrative and ruining the story telling experience. What are some things that come to mind when you read this post?

  12. Alright so I found out how, it is an option that is on our site that'll cost $100 to unlock and renewal charge of $35 every 6 months, we will look into this at a later date and have to discuss it.
  13. It is by default a positive performance review, so any deeds/recommendations/recognition you would get is a promotion unless it's specified in the demotion itself. Performance Review is usually done on the spot and by discretion of any officer, it is a straightforward what they think of you and how well you are doing. How well you are is measured usually by reports, posts or attitude. It is also done monthly on whatever date you were demoted on.
  14. Qualified immunity is a legal doctrine in United States federal law that shields government officials from being sued for discretionary actions performed within their official capacity, unless their actions violated "clearly established" federal law or constitutional rights. Qualified immunity thus protects officials who "make reasonable but mistaken judgments about open legal questions", but does not protect "the plainly incompetent or those who knowingly violate the law". [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualified_immunity ] Stumbled upon this looking for something else, some crazy fucking stories!
  15. As fun as that used to be I think that era has died, as this isn't an active community by no means where people regularly invite each other to games to play despite our initiatives to make it so.
  16. The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in zero-sum games such as chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-American physics professor. The Elo system was originally invented as an improved chess rating system over the previously used Harkness system, but is also used as a rating system for multiplayer competition in a number of video games. The difference in the ratings between two players serves as a predictor of the outcome of a match. Two players with equal ratings who play against each other are expected to score an equal number of wins. A player whose rating is 100 points greater than their opponent's is expected to score 64%; if the difference is 200 points, then the expected score for the stronger player is 76%. A player's Elo rating is represented by a number which may change depending on the outcome of rated games played. After every game, the winning player takes points from the losing one. The difference between the ratings of the winner and loser determines the total number of points gained or lost after a game. If the high-rated player wins, then only a few rating points will be taken from the low-rated player. However, if the lower-rated player scores an upset win, many rating points will be transferred. The lower-rated player will also gain a few points from the higher rated player in the event of a draw. This means that this rating system is self-correcting. Players whose ratings are too low or too high should, in the long run, do better or worse correspondingly than the rating system predicts and thus gain or lose rating points until the ratings reflect their true playing strength. An Elo rating is a comparative rating only, and is valid only within the rating pool where it's established. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system ] Elo hell (also known as MMR hell) is a video gaming term used in MOBAs and other multiplayer online games with competitive modes. It refers to portions of the matchmaking ranking spectrum where individual matches are of poor quality, and are often determined by factors such as poor team coordination which are perceived to be outside the individual player's control. This ostensibly makes it difficult for skilled players to "climb" up the matchmaking ranking (and out of Elo hell), due to the difficulty of consistently winning games under these conditions. Its existence in various games has been debated, and some game developers have called it an illusion caused by cognitive bias. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_hell ] Understanding Elo might lead to a better understanding on advantageously playing with it, or just playing in general. A more relative derivative is TrueSkill (which is currently on its second adapted version or third as of Halo 5: Guardians) TrueSkill is a skill-based ranking system developed by Microsoft for use with video game matchmaking on Xbox Live. Unlike the popular Elo rating system, which was initially designed for chess, TrueSkill is designed to support games with more than two players. On Xbox Live, players start with 3 always increases after a win and always decreases after a loss. The extent of actual updates depends on each player's wow variable and on how "surprising" the outcome is to the system. Unbalanced games, for example, result in either negligible updates when the favorite wins, or huge updates when the favorite loses surprisingly. Factor graphs and expectation propagation via moment matching are used to compute the message passing equations which in turn compute the skills for the players. Player ranks are displayed as the conservative estimate of their skill. This is conservative, because the system is 99% sure that the player's skill is actually higher than what is displayed as their rank. The system can be used with arbitrary scales, but Microsoft uses a scale from 0 to 50 for Xbox Live. Hence, players start with a rank of 3. This means that a new player's defeat results in a large sigma loss, which partially or completely compensates their mu loss (in mathmatical equation not examplified on the site). This explains why people may gain ranks from losses. [ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueSkill ]
  17. We did that once and it wasn't good quality, we also run the risk of getting our Discord's banned for streaming content against the terms of services. Skype is easier, but I know most of his in com don't want to share personal information like that (myself included.)
  18. Still haven't found it, I know its their when people sign up but the sign up process it doesn't say/have not found it in the admin panel.

    Cuspers

A cusper is a person born near the end of one generation and the beginning of another. People born in these circumstances tend to have a mix of characteristics common to their adjacent generations, but do not closely resemble those born in the middle of their adjacent generations.
  20. What a revelation it is, that the site and our competition HaloArchives.com was actually an Invision site too. Now we're here waning out the days and continuing the forum tradition.
