  2. A statement was released by Europa Halo on the 7th about ceasing all activities and shutting down. Europa Halo is a european tournament organizer that was one of the first around Halo to host a LAN event in Europe but also the leading most active community for amateur and competitive players alike. One of the main reasons they're ceasing operations is because of lack of support from 343. You know that grassroots program that was supposed to help efforts like local LANs, Online Cups and Creators have solely benefitted no one and really leaning towards influencers that do not even care for the game or have a large following.
  3. There has been a conversation on region locking in Asia preventing players from matching US players on US servers and increasing matchmaking times for those outside the US. As someone also living in Asia I can also confirm this and often have to find other ways to play the game online. Wait times are so bad that I can find games on MCC quicker than I would Halo Infinite and most others across Japan, Southeast Asia and Australia- New Zealand also experience this too. The underlying problem is a population issue but there is nothing to be done about that, there is also a user experience issue and a matchmaking balancing issue where it does not accomodate for the connection people play on eg. a lobby full of Diamonds vs 1 Onyx player and the rest being Platinum but the Onyx player is at a very high ping. Where 343 Industries and the community management has not discussed this at all with anyone I figured we might be able to discuss this here and possibly present a solution to this.
  4. I've never played either, but I am interested. Fallout has an interesting universe, just never got into it. I think at the time it came out a few other multiplayer games were out.
  5. Its honestly great for single people who don't share there screens in the house with anyone. If you live in a 1 bedroom apartment and don't already have a TV or a monitor you might be able to wager up the cost of this as it would combine TV/computer needs in one product. Where you might look sad in a room all alone with this headset on, I'm pretty sure its fun and immersive where it needs to be. As a first generation product though there really is no support for it, no new or cool apps from what I've seen so far. Also need to consider, anyone using it as a PC is likely limited. I didn't see the spec sheet but it can't be that much better than an iPad Pro which would put you at a disadvantage in computing power for anything intensive. Who knows though, I think VR headsets are used for video games sometimes? I don't really like putting things on my head, helmets and all so I wouldn't know.
  6. I've been reviewing some notable Halo forums that are kind of dead now after rediscovering a few. I don't want to waste my time, I also don't want to waste anyone elses, especially with how little we have nowadays. I've been thinking on a rubric to guide myself to avoid pitfalls and areas of failure around a forum. The idea is to make it more sustainable and I am happy to recieve any support at all through the subscription plans. But, Predicting the success of any online community, including a Halo forum, is inherently uncertain due to various factors like evolving user preferences, technological advancements, and changes in the gaming industry. However, if the Halo forum maintain an active and engaged user base, adapt to the changing needs of their community, and continue to provide valuable content and discussions related to the Halo franchise, they have a good chance of remaining successful over the next 10 years. It's crucial for such forums to evolve with the times, perhaps incorporating new features, improving user experience, and fostering a welcoming environment for fans to connect and share their passion for the game. Do you see this being a place in the future for Halo? Is it likely we need to encompass more games like HellDivers 2 and others to stay relevant?
  7. What do you guys think? It doesn't sound like he would actually be paid in the same ways we know simply because he did come from and is the result of a special project in ONI.
  8. In the latest CANON FODDER: IF THEY WANT LORE, WE’LL GIVE ‘EM LORE Issue 150 343 Industries and Haruspis debuted the rest of Omega teams names. We recently featured Omega Team in Hippocratica, and their armor is available in Halo Infinite alongside the Spirit of Fire Operation, so we thought we would address one of the outstanding questions about that team. When we formally meet Omega Team in the original Halo Wars during the Arcadia Outskirts mission, they are composed of six Spartans. In Halo Wars 2 and Hippocratica, we centered on a team of three—August-099, Leon-011, and Robert-025. So, who were the other three Spartans? In fact, they’re on the silver screen this week! You’ve seen ‘em. You know ‘em. We’ve even previously stated that these characters were drawn from core canon. OMEGA TEAM During the Covenant War, Omega Team served as a fast reaction team of Spartan super-soldiers deployed to colony worlds under attack where their missions involved denying the enemy critical resources, data, and personnel—by any means necessary. Omega Team had a specialized task, with critical missions requiring their attention throughout besieged human space. Its membership was never fixed, with August-099 having the longest tenure. In 2531, when deployed to the Outer Colony resort world Arcadia, its membership included Leon-011, Robert-025, Riz-028, August-099, Kai-125, and Vannak-134. This team composition would temporarily reform for operations on Hellas in 2540, but Riz, Vannak, and Kai were assigned to Silver Team shortly after.
  9. When I started this part of the forums I really looked to fulfill a space and gap in communications I see around the internet with Halo mods. Because of the prolific use of Discord its presented a challenge with attaining valuable much-needed information to the public in non-indexed information. Not that search results are any better nowadays with how badly abused SEO optimization is but the mods and modding community around Halo is large and decentralized, with the largest collective being the Halo Reclaimers Discord server. If you didn't know about it you would not have access to many of its enriched contents. With that said, I looked to partner with them successfully and hope to bring more information here to the site from the discord and other resources to build a strong modding community!
  10. Releasing on the birthday of Halo Wars 2 its a little story catching up with the Spirit of Fire from May 2559. Having emerged into the unknown after twenty-eight years adrift in space, the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire find that new foes are not the only challenge they face on the enigmatic Ark—but the past they left behind.
  11. The Didact returns on February 27 in Halo: Epitaph, the next book by Kelly Gay! Check out our preview of the first chapter, featuring the narration of Keith Szarabajka (the voice of the Didact himself).
  12. Its definitely vastly different than the first one, I might pick it up from Steam. Amazing that PlayStation has this game released man, like gofigure.
  13. It's Heroic, I am an idiot and didn't see it in the post game report. With that said, I think the balancing updates have made it harder to beat them now than they were before. Which is a good thing at the end of it all
  14. I don't really know enough to comment but I liked the interview its interesting hearing what Putin has to say about the west.
  15. A Halo forum is an online community platform dedicated to discussions, news, and interactions related to the popular video game franchise, Halo. These forums serve as gathering places for fans of the Halo series to connect with one another, share experiences, and engage in conversations about various aspects of the games. Within a Halo forum, users can participate in discussions on a wide range of topics, including gameplay strategies, storyline theories, multiplayer experiences, fan creations, and upcoming releases. Members can create new discussion threads, reply to existing topics, and interact with other users through comments and private messages. Halo forums often feature different sections or categories to organize discussions based on specific topics, such as general gameplay, multiplayer tactics, campaign lore, fan art, and technical support. Additionally, forums may have sections for news and announcements from the game developers, community events, and contests. These forums provide a platform for Halo enthusiasts to express their passion for the franchise, connect with like-minded individuals, and stay updated on the latest developments in the Halo universe. Whether discussing favorite moments from the games, sharing fan creations, or debating the intricacies of the storyline, Halo forums offer a vibrant and interactive space for fans to engage with one another and celebrate their love for the iconic sci-fi franchise. These are some of the other Halo forums I know about that are active, do you know anymore? https://steamcommunity.com/app/976730/discussions/ https://steamcommunity.com/app/1240440/discussions/ https://www.405th.com/forums/ https://forum.xboxera.com/
  16. Does anyone know what the AI difficulty is? At launch the game you could solo vs. 3 AI and I just observed an atrocity that is a teammate losing to 3 AI's, I was already out of the game since I had to go AFK for 15 minutes and that was enough to come back to a destroyed base in the early game. Where my teammates were left to eachother one had disconnected midfight, likely because he was low on resources to replenish ultimate units while the other fought on until they surrounded his last base and he lost. Back in the day you could turtle up a little bit and fend off 3 AI's I don't know if thats changed or there is a skill issue.
  17. I have been overwhelmed with requests lately on what is accessible and what is not. I have all the answers, but want to really review why it is necessary in the first place and how access is derived. Forum permissions control what users can see and do within a forum. Here's how users may not have access to certain forum topics due to forum permissions: Restricted Access Levels: Forums often have different access levels, such as "guest," "registered user," "moderator," and "administrator." Each access level has different permissions. Certain topics or sections may be restricted to specific access levels. For example, a forum might have a "members-only" section that only registered users can access. Role-Based Permissions: Users are assigned roles within the forum based on factors like their activity level, reputation, or privileges granted by moderators or administrators. Some topics may be restricted based on a user's role. For instance, only moderators or administrators might have access to certain administrative discussions or private forums. Content Restrictions: Forums may have rules or guidelines regarding the type of content that can be posted. Topics that violate these rules, such as containing inappropriate content or spam, may be hidden from certain users or removed entirely. User Settings: Users may have the option to customize their forum experience through settings or preferences. For example, users can choose to ignore certain topics or users, effectively hiding them from their view. Special Permissions: Some topics may require special permissions granted by necessity in duty, rank or position held in ONI. These topics might include sensitive discussions, classified information, or content intended for specific user groups. Forum Moderation: Moderators have the authority to manage forum content, including hiding or deleting topics, and enforcing forum rules. If a topic violates forum rules or guidelines, moderators may hide it from view until the issue is resolved. In summary, forum permissions regulate access to certain topics or sections based on factors like user roles, access levels, content restrictions, and moderator actions. These permissions help maintain forum integrity, protect user privacy, and ensure a positive user experience for all members. If you want to know why exactly do you not have access to a specific page or forum and topic please let me know below.

  19. I am currently at a lost in troubleshooting this issue so any help would be appreciated. I will attach photos later but any time I'm in a game, online or campaign if there is grass its extrapolated x5 and looks massive. I read that it could be a driver related issue but the game is not receiving anymore updates so I would need to revert the drivers back which is a pain for my other games. I am kinda curious if this is the same on console? Does anyone have any answers to fixing this maybe?
  20. Hello Lysithea or ONI to most, I wanted to ask how are we feeling about all the voice channels in the ONI discord server? Do you fancy the set up, is there anything to say or permissions needing to be fixed regarding this? Let me know.
  21. They mention and talk about the pacific theater but I don't think the same would really apply to the european theater. Tanks are strategic moving encampments really. The modern tanks are insane and its proving its effectiveness all the time even in the ongoing Ukraine war (though there are supply challenges) movement and applicability is definitely different in the chain of islands. Especially when it comes to pricing as well in a more economically challenging world.
  22. Yes this has held up in time and been a tried and true process of elimination we exercise especially with gaming communities.
  23. I recently logged into my Fortnite account (after more than a year of hiatus) and found some interesting things in my connected accounts. An option to login and connect my Nike account and Lego account. Now I haven't played the Lego mode-universe Fortnite game mode but Nike? What does Nike have to do with Fortnite right now. Lego?
